An Café, Hayabusa Perform New Duel Masters VS R Theme Songs

Theme songs to change on January 10

The January issue of Coro Coro Comics (cover pictured at right) announced the new opening and ending themes for the Duel Masters VS R (Duel Masters Versus Revolution) anime on Tuesday. An Café (Darker than Black) will perform the new ending theme and Hayabusa will perform the new opening theme "EvoRevo!" The theme songs will change in the January 10 episode of the anime.

Since the group formed in 2003, An Café (Antic Café, pictured below) has performed "Kakusei Heroism ~The Hero Without A Name~," the second opening theme song to the Darker than Black anime series. The group also performed "Ryūsei Rocket" ("Comet Rocket"), the opening theme to the live-action drama adaptation of Masami Kurumada's Fuuma no Kojirou manga.

The three-man enka singer group Hayabusa (pictured below) debuted in 2012.

The Duel Masters VS R anime premiered in Japan in April.

Katta Kirifuda, the younger brother of the previous franchise lead Shōbu Kirifuda, has been starring in the various television anime since 2011's Duel Masters Victory. His name is pronounced the same way as the Japanese phrase for "the trump card won the game."

In Japan, Duel Masters has already spawned 11 television anime series since 1999: the first Duel Masters anime, Duel Masters Charge, Shinseiki Duel Masters Flash, Zero Duel Masters, Duel Masters Zero, Duel Masters Cross, Duel Masters Cross Shock, Duel Masters Victory, Duel Masters Victory V, Duel Masters Victory V3, and Duel Masters VS (Duel Masters Versus). The Cartoon Network ran the first anime series in the United States, but none of the later anime came to North America.

Hasbro confirmed in 2012 that it has no future plans to release the Japanese Duel Masters manga and anime in the United States. It relaunched the franchise in the country in 2011 with the Kaijudo TCG. To support the game, Hasbro Studios produced an animated series called Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters in the United States. However, Hasbro cancelled the Kaijudo TCG last year.
