Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming a commercial for the Japanese version of the Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (titled Tales of Vesperia Remaster in Japan) game on Monday.
The game is a remastered version of Bandai Namco Entertainment's Tales of Vesperia role-playing game. The game will include both English and Japanese voice-overs, as well as content from the Japanese PlayStation 3 release available for the first time in English, such as Patty Fleur and Flynn Schifo as party members. The game will also include new scenarios, locations, and costumes. Voice actor Troy Baker will not return to voice Yuri Lowell in the game's additional scenes.
Bandai Namco Entertainment will release the game for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in the Americas, Europe, and Japan on January 11.
The "10th anniversary edition" will include a Blu-ray Disc with the Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~ anime film, along with video bonuses including a "Special Dramatic Skit ~Class Reunion Edition~" and the short anime "Tales of HR ~Vesperia-hen~." The set will also include an acrylic stand, reversible cover, hardcover art book, and special box. First print editions of the game in Japan will include a serial code for a "Special Dramatic Skit ~Congrats! 10th Anniversary Commemoration Edition~."
The original Tales of Vesperia role-playing game shipped for Xbox 360 in 2008, and it then received a PlayStation 3 release in Japan in 2009. The PS3 version added full voice acting, the new character Patty Fleur, and the character Flynn Schifo as a party member, as well as additional dungeons, bosses, and GIGANT monsters.
Production I.G produced the Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~ anime film, which acts as a prequel to the game, in 2009. Funimation released the film on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in North America.
