Fan-Voting for the Theme Song Singer Audition of the Anime Film Deemo The Movie Will Finally Begin on June 15th, 2020

TOKYO, JAPAN - June. 12, 2020 – Pony Canyon reports that fan-voting for the third qualifying round of the public audition to decide the theme song (written by Yuki Kajiura) singer for the in-production theatrical anime film “DEEMO THE MOVIE” will take place on the official website over the course of 36 hours, starting on June 15th 0:00 AM Japan Time (June 14th 8:00 AM Pacific Time).

The anime, based on the SmartPhone game “DEEMO” which has generated over 23 million downloads worldwide, will be produced by Pony Canyon in partnership with Production I.G group. The team is widely known for the globally successful anime, “Attack on Titan”.

Yuki Kajiura, known for her music in various anime titles such as “Fate/Zero” and “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”, is the writer/producer of the anime's theme song and also participates as one of the judges for this audition.

The audition originally started in January of this year when it saw over a thousand applicants come in from around the world. The third qualifying round had judges examine each contestant's singing skills, and fan-voting will follow starting from June 15th (Mon).

Upon the commencement of fan-voting, video clips of both the assigned song and the chosen song by all 14 contestants will be uploaded to the official audition website in addition to past vocal performances and behind-the-scene lesson footages, to provide a reference for the voting fans.

Five finalists will be decided through the fan-vote, and the grand winner will be announced at Anime Expo Lite, which will be held on July 3rd and 4th as an online streaming event. The grand winner will be guaranteed with a debut release of the anime's theme song from Pony Canyon.
