  • Los Angeles-based Mixx Entertainment announced Friday that it has licensed the manga series to the popular shoujo/mecha hybrid Gundam Wing. Hoping to concide with AnimeVillage's release of the anime version, Mixx will release the series in comic book form starting in February of 2000, followed up by a graphic novel release starting in May 2000.

  • Manga Entertainment has further delayed the Macross Plus vol. 1 (episodes 1-2) DVD from September 26 to October 12, due to mastering problems. According to Animania DVD, the Macross Plus DVD's will be the company's last for 1999, and previously announced DVD's will see release starting next February.

  • In their monthly press-release, Viz Communications announced a Pokémon 2000 calendar, a Pokémon TV Animation comic graphic novel (originally serialized in Nintendo Power magazine), a graphic novel for Gundam 0079, a graphic novel for Voyeurs, Inc., the final "wedding" issue to Maison Ikkoku (as well as the printing of episodes cut from the series near the beginning that deal with Godai as a ronin, to be seen in Animerica Extra), and two previously announced Ranma 1/2 TV series volumes, Marry Me, Akane and Buns of Steel. All of these will see a November release, except for the videos, which have been delayed until January.

  • Ghiblink has posted the Quicktime downloadable version of the Princess Mononoke trailer at http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/mh/relmedia.html. The trailer is available in both Cinepak and Sorenson-compressed versions.

  • AnimEigo has finally put the various sets of Urusei Yatsura DVD's on sale. These can be pre-ordered (officially) on their web site or their separate secure server.

  • Miramax has announced the 20 media markets that will see a release of Princess Mononoke among its first theatrical run on October 29. (A wider release will happen if the film is successful enough.) These include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland (Oregon), St. Louis, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC.
