Singer Yusuke Kamiji Makes Naruto Cameo as 'Yusuke'

Singer and movie actor Yusuke Kamiji will appear as a character named "Yusuke" in "Shōnen to Umi" ("The Boy and the Sea"), the August 4 episode of Naruto Shippūden. This will be only Kamiji's second television anime role; he also had a cameo in a 2010 episode of Sazae-san.

The Naruto character "Yusuke" is a young fisherman who battles monsters alone in an attempt to avenge his father's death by the creatures. Kamiji bears a not-entirely-coincidental physical resemblance to "Yusuke."

Kamiji will also sing the theme song for Naruto Shippūden: Blood Prison, the eighth Naruto feature film which opens on July 30. Live-action credits for the actor include Crows Zero and Kamen Rider G. Kamiji has been an active actor in Japanese television dramas and movies since 1999, and he began professionally singing in 2009.
