New Book to Feature Conversations with Hayao Miyazaki, Goro Miyazaki, Hideaki Anno

Kadokawa Shoten to publish book in Japan on August 28

Kadokawa Shoten is publishing a book featuring conversations with studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke), his son Goro Miyazaki (Tales from Earthsea), and Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno (pictured from left to right). The book will cost 1,365 yen (about US$17.60), and will be released on August 28 in Japan.

The book, tentatively titled Hadō: Hayao Miyazaki, Hideaki Anno, Goro Miyazaki, will feature a collection of discussions between the three men for the first time on the true meaning of "to make something."

Hayao Miyazaki and Goro Miyazaki recently collaborated on Studio Ghibli's latest film, Kokuriko-Zaka Kara. Hayao Miyazaki planned and co-wrote the film, and Goro Miyazaki directed the film. Anno's best-known involvement with Hayao Miyazaki was more than a quarter-century ago, when Anno drew the monstrous "God Warrior" for Hayao Miyazaki's 1984 film Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind.
