Digimon Xros Wars to Host Return of More Former Characters

The April issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine is revealing on Tuesday that more former Digimon characters will return in the ongoing Digimon Xros Wars: Toki o Kakeru Shōnen Hunter-tachi television anime series on March 18. The anime is the latest Digimon series, after Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02, Digimon Tamers, Digimon Frontier, and Digimon: Data Squad.

Spoiler (highlight the following white text to read) The following characters will appear in the March 18 episode from an alternate world:

• Digimon Adventure's Taichi Yagami (Taichi Kamiya in English) with Omegamon (Omnimon)
• Digimon Adventure 02's Daisuke Motomiya (Davis Motomiya) with Imperialdramon
• Digimon Tamers' Takato Matsuki with Dukemon (Gallantmon)
• Digimon Frontier's Takuya Kanbara with Susanoomon
• Digimon: Data Squad's Masaru Daimon (Marcus Damon) with ShineGreymon

Taichi already returned in an earlier episode in January. All of these former major characters are joining the survival hunt of the new anime.

Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Newtype magazine had revealed in September — before Digimon Xros Wars: Toki o Kakeru Shōnen Hunter-tachi started — that the new series will bring together characters from the previous entries in the Digimon franchise as Digimon Hunters. Since November, Crunchyroll has been streaming the anime into several countries as it airs in Japan.
