TV anime of Yoshiaki Sukeno's supernatural comedy manga to debut in July

The June issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is revealing on Wednesday that Kana Hanazawa, Yumi Uchiyama will lead the cast of the upcoming Binbō-gami ga! television anime series.

Hanazawa will play Ichiko Sakura, a girl whose blissful life comes from her bountiful "happiness energy" — gained by sapping that energy from other people. Uchiyama will play Momiji, the Binbō-gami (Poverty God) who attempts to eliminate Ichiko to restore the balance.

The anime will premiere in July. Yoichi Fujita (Gintama) is directing the series at Sunrise with Kento Shimoyama (Bleach) handling series composition. Kenji Tanabe (Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Bonds ) is designing the characters.

Yoshiaki Sukeno's original manga began in Jump Square in 2008, and the 12th compiled book volume shipped earlier this month.
