Chess Piece Collection R set to launch with 6 character figures in March

Megahouse is bringing the Fate/Zero novel/anime franchise into its revived Chess Piece Collection R line. Chess Piece Collection R Fate/Zero will launch in late March with six figures: Saber, Irisviel, Rider, Archer, Lancer, and Berserker.

Each of the 998-yen, 90-millimeter-tall painted figures comes with either a black or white base for a total of 12 different variants. Megahouse posted an interactive 360̂° view of the pieces. Bandai will release a separate chess set inspired by the character Gilgamesh's set from the Fate/Zero television anime series next month.

In April, Megahouse relaunched its popular Chess Piece Collection series after almost a decade of dormancy. The first set in the relaunch was from the One Piece pirate anime, followed by ones for Tiger & Bunny and other titles. The first three-year run of the Chess Piece Collection series boasted about 40 different sets, including ones inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam, Kamen Rider, Dragon Ball, Godzilla, Lupin III, and Dunbine.
