Nakayoshi to release new manga drawing kit in December

In February, Kodansha packaged a "Super Saikyou Manga-ka Set" with its March issue that was full of useful tools for aspiring manga artists to draw their own shoujo manga (pictured at right). It was a great success, so on December 13 they will release another drawing kit along with an instructional book.

It will be called "Fulfill Your Wishes in 24 DAYS☆How to Draw the Strongest Manga Box & Book." The how-to book will be written by Kei Enue, author and artist of Nakayoshi's B-Wanted, and will include behind-the-scenes stories from Ema Toyama (I Am Here!, Pixie Pop), Lily Hoshino (Otome Yōkai Zakuro, Love Quest), Yuki Suetsugu (Chihayafuru, Flower of Eden), Hajime Isayama (Attack on Titan), and Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail, Rave Master).

The box will include:

  • a modeling puppet
  • a French curve (a type of template used for drawing smooth curves)
  • an L-square (an L-shaped ruler)
  • 4 speech balloon stencils
  • a fine tip pen
  • a correction pen
  • 8 sheets of manuscript paper with pre-drawn, traceable manga
  • 8 screentone sheets
