It's time for imports with God Eater 2, Metal Max 4, and a robot war that we don't even bother numbering. Plus Bravely Second, Granblue Fantasy, and the way that anime should embrace old games.

Sunrise officially announced its plans to release a Cowboy Bebop theatrical film some time next year, according to EX Online. While the same main crew of talent will work on the movie, including producer Minami Masahiko (Iron Leaguer, Escaflowne), director Watanabe Shinichiroh (Macross Plus), scriptwriter Nobumoto Keiko (Macross Plus), character designer Kawamoto Toshihiro (Golden Boy) and composer Kanno Yoko (Macross Plus, Escaflowne), the film will not be a follow-up story to the 1998 TV series, and will reportedly only take inspiration from that plotline. Last June, Minami, Watanabe, Nobumoto, and Kawamoto travelled to Morocco to sketch setting designs for the new project, however character and mechanical designs are expected to remain the same. Kanno, who hinted at the project at AnimeExpo this year, plans to rescore the new project from scratch.
