Not-So-Daily Links of the Day: On Wednesday, Aya Hirano (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star) posted a picture that fellow singer/voice actress Shōko Nakagawa (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Eyeshield 21) drew and emailed her. (In the linked page, click on the picture to see a larger-sized version.) According to Hirano, the picture depicts her in one of her outfits for a recent live concert (as reported by Famitsu. Nakagawa then posted the full version of the drawing, which includes her comment, "Hirano Aya-tan's short haircut was just so cute that I had to try drawing it." Nakagawa is known to her fans as "Shokotan," but Hirano calls her "Shoko-chan." Nakagawa has drawn many illustrations in the past, and has even published a manga in Ohta Shuppan's hon-nin magazine.

In related news, the Tokyograph website reports that Nakagawa, a professed fan of the Gegege no Kitarō supernatural stories, will appear in the live-action movie sequel. According to the Sankei Sports newspaper, Nakagawa will play a ghost named Fuguruma Yōbi who aids the title character Kitarō (Eiji Wentz) in GeGeGe no Kitarō: Sennen Noroi Uta (GeGeGe no Kitarō : The Thousand-Year-Curse Song). The film opens in Japan on July 12. Nakagawa wrote and sang the ending theme "Snow Tears" and played the guest character Neko for the related "Hakaba Kitarō" anime series.
