New sequence planned for combined re-release but will not involve The Bride

Kill Bill lead actress Uma Thurman told MTV Movies Blog that director Quentin Tarantino "had already written" the new anime sequence that will serve as the intermission between the two volumes of the film in a planned re-release. However, she also emphasized that the anime sequence has nothing to do with her or her Bride character.

Tarantino said at Comic-Con International 2006 that he wanted to make an anime origin film about the titular Bill character and his mentors, as well as another anime prequel about The Bride. However, he has not elaborated on his plans since. Katsuhito Ishii and Shou Tajima designed the characters that Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Real Drive) animated for "The Origin of O-Ren" sequence (pictured at right) that appeared in the first Kill Bill volume.
