Japanese Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking, October 12-18

Bakemonogatari sells 40,000; Crows, Blood, Yatterman, Spice & Wolf, K-ON!, Eva stay

According to the Oricon survey firm and the AV Watch news source, the first Blu-ray Disc volume of Bakemonogatari stayed on top of the Oricon chart for a third week in a row. It sold 2,564 more copies for a total of about 40,000 copies.

Crows Zero II, Takashi Miike's second prequel film based on Hiroshi Takahashi's Crows fighting manga, rose back up from #3 to #2 in its third week on SoundScan Japan's chart. According to Oricon, it sold 824 more copies. Miike's first Crows Zero film dropped from #13 to #15. Chris Nahon's live-action film adaptation of Production I.G's Blood: The Last Vampire anime went up from #6 to #4 in its second week. Yatterman Tenko-Mori Blu-ray, the deluxe version of Miike's live-action film adaptation of the Yatterman anime, stayed at #5 in its fourth week.
