English-subbed Rental Magica, English-dubbed Soul Eater videos also streamed

The official website for Rintaro's Yona Yona Penguin 3D computer-animated film is streaming the two-minute theatrical trailer. (Other videos are available under the "映像をみる" option in the website's menu at the bottom.) In the adventure fantasy, a little girl named Koko gets sucked into a fantasy world populated by goblins who believe that their saviour will be a penguin.This joint project between Thailand's Imagimax, Japan's Dynamo Pictures, and France's Def2Shoot will open in Japan on December 23. The film already screened at Spain's Sitges festival.

The official website for Masaaki Taniguchi's live-action film reimagining of Yasutaka Tsutsui's The Girl Who Leapt Through Time novel is now streaming a 70-second teaser trailer. Riisa Naka, the actress who made her film debut as the lead voice of Mamoru Hosoda's 2006 award-winning anime film version of the same novel, stars as a different character in the new film. In the 2010 film, she plays 18-year-old Akari Yoshiyama, the only daughter of the novel's heroine Kazuko. After a car accident puts Kazuko in a coma, Akari leaps back to the year 1974 to find Kazuko's first love. The film is slated to open in Japan in March, 2010.

Nozomi Enertainment, the North American anime production label of Right Stuf, posted more trailers for its release of the Rental Magica anime. In the supernatural comedy story, Isuki Iba is a high school student who inherits the Astral magic-for-hire service from his missing father. Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE director Itsuro Kawasaki and the ZEXCS anime studio adapted this 2007-2008 television series from the award-winning light novel series written by Makoto Sanda and illustrated by pako. Nozomi will ship the first half of the 24-episode series in a DVD collection on November 24.

Funimation posted more English-dubbed video clips for the Soul Eater anime series on the YouTube website this week. The previous English-dubbed videos are still available. Funimation is now planning to release this adaptation of Atsushi Ohkubo's manga in 2010. Yen Press published the first volume of the manga last month.
