Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi TV Anime Dated for April 2011

Junjō Romantica staff to adapt Shungiku Nakamura's latest boys-love manga

The January issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Ciel magazine is announcing on Tuesday that the television anime adaptation of Shungiku Nakamura's Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi boys-love manga will premiere next April. The magazine had already announced this past January that an anime was in the works, and an anime DVD will ship with the fifth volume of the manga next March.

The story follows the tension between a newly recruited manga editor named Ritsu Onodera (Takashi Kondō) and his tyrannical editor-in-chief named Masamune Takano (Katsuyuki Konishi) — who happen to share a common past.

Chiaki Kon (When They Cry - Higurashi) is directing the anime series at Studio DEEN, and Rika Nakase (Rocket Girls) is supervising the scripts. Yoko Kikuchi (Noir, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) is designing the characters. All of them had previously worked together on the anime adaptation of Nakamura's Junjō Romantica boys-love manga, and they are also working on the manga-bundled anime DVD. A website will open with more information about the television series.
