Kindergartener must save the world's B-grade cuisine by carrying sauce to safety

The Cinema Today website began streaming a teaser trailer on Monday for Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Bakauma—! B-Kyū Gourmet Survival!!, the next Crayon Shin-chan film which will open on April 20, 2013.

In the story, B-grade cuisine is in danger of being wiped out without a special sauce, and it is up to the mischievous kindergartener Shin-chan to ferry the sauce to safety.

Masakazu Hashimoto (Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, Tari Tari) is directing his first Crayon Shin-chan movie after storyboarding 2008's Crayon Shin-chan: Chō Arashi o Yobu Kinpoko no Yūsha and 2011's Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi o Yobu Ōgon no Spy Daisakusen. Yoshio Urasawa (Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Fushigi Yugi) and Kimiko Ueno (Kuromajyo-san ga Tōru!!) wrote the screenplay.

The American publisher DC Comics' CMX Manga imprint released the first 11 volumes of the late Yoshito Usui's original Crayon Shin-chan manga in North America before the imprint was closed in July 2010. One Peace Books just reissued the first three volumes in October. Funimation adapted the television anime into dubbed English, and America's Adult Swim network used to run episodes every Sunday morning.
