New Hello Kitty Plush Toys Wear Uglydoll Costumes

The Sanrio and Uglydoll brands are collaborating to create a line of crossover collectables, including plush toys, vinyl figures by Funko, and iPhone cases by Uncommon. The plushes, which will debut at San Diego Comic Con, feature Hello Kitty wearing costumes of popular Uglydoll characters OX, Trunko, Ice-Bat, and Wage. The other items are also slated for release this summer.
The famous cat is getting her own graphic novels by Viz Media this fall, received a clothing line from Forever 21, and was also featured in a number of crossovers with franchises and celebrities like the rock band KISS, Street Fighter, Sonic the Hedgehog, Vocaloids, Tokyo Tribes creator Santa Inoue, The Ring film, One Piece, and Evangelion over the past two years. Sanrio credited the crossovers as one of the reasons it became debt-free as of last year.
