Aniplex USA to Release Fate/Zero on BD/DVD with Dub

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Company previously released import BD boxsets for 25-episode series

North American anime licensor Aniplex of America announced at Anime Expo on Thursday that it will release a domestic version of the Fate/Zero television anime series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc that will include the show's English dub.

Aniplex of America previously released Fate/Zero in North America in two Blu-ray Disc box sets that were imports of the Japanese release with English subtitles and a translation booklet. Fate/Zero is currently streaming on Neon Alley with an English dub, and the series streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired.

The anime adapts the prequel novel by Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Phantom - The Animation, Blassreiter) to Type-Moon's Fate/stay night visual novel software. The story is set a decade before Fate/stay night and reveals the 4th Holy Grail War that sets the stage for the war in the software.

Director Ei Aoki (Hourou Musuko, Ga-Rei: Zero, Girls Bravo), the anime studio ufotable, and composer Yuki Kajiura (Madoka Magica, .hack, Kara no Kyoukai) were all involved in the anime, which originally aired in two different seasons in October to December 2011 and April to June 2012.
