Fafner Exodus Confirmed to Continue Beyond 13 Episodes

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Details to be announced at May 24 event

King Records began streaming a "Fafner EXODUS Continuation Announcement" promotional video on Saturday. The video notes that more details about the continuation will be announced at the "Special Event -Itami-" (Pain) that the staff will host on May 24.

XEBEC zwei had said in 2013 that the sequel will be a 26-episode television series. However, in November 2014 the official website for the series had listed six Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes with 13 episodes on them. The 13th episode aired on Thursday.

The sequel television anime is set in the year 2151, two and a half years after the film Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth. The 10th-anniversary project reunites the main staff from the first Fafner television series, including director Nobuyoshi Habara at XEBEC zwei and Xebec. Tow Ubukata is writing the project, and King Records' Gou Nakanishi is a producer.

Crunchyroll streamed the sequel series in various countries as it aired in Japan. The sequel series premiered on January 8.
