Shiggy Jr. Band Performs RIN-NE 2 Anime's New Ending Theme

This year's 28th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced on Wednesday that the four-member band Shiggy Jr. is performing "Beautiful Life," the new ending theme song for the RIN-NE 2 television anime series. The theme song will begin playing in July.

Shiggy Jr. drummer Kazuma Moroishi said that as a huge fan of Rumiko Takahashi's works, he was thrilled when the band's song was chosen as the ending theme. Vocalist Tomoko Ikeda noted that Moroishi's smartphone wallpaper features Kyoko from Takahashi's Maison Ikkoku manga and anime. She added that she remembers raptly watching Kagome traveling between worlds in Inuyasha as an impressionable child.

The group previously performed the ending theme song "key of life" for the Rilu Rilu Fairilu ~Yōsei no Door~ television anime series.

The rock band CreepHyp is performing "Ainii," the new opening theme song. The theme song will begin playing in episode 38 on July 2.

RIN-NE 2 is the second anime series based on Rumiko Takahashi's RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) manga. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the second season, and the anime is currently streaming on The Anime Network and Crunchyroll. The anime premiered in Japan on April 9.

The first television anime series premiered in April 2015 on the public broadcaster NHK's E-Tele channel. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for release in North America.
