posted on by Karen Ressler
Different film screens every month starting in June

GKIDS and Fathom Events announced on Tuesday that they are collaborating to release six Studio Ghibli films in U.S. theaters this year. The first film in the series will be My Neighbor Totoro, and it will be followed by Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle.

Tickets and theater locations will be available on April 28. The films will be available with both the English dub and in Japanese with English subtitles. Each film will be shown on two days (Sunday and Monday) on the following dates:

  • My Neighbor Totoro: June 25 and June 26
  • Kiki's Delivery Service: July 23 and July 24
  • Castle in the Sky: August 27 and August 28
  • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind: September 24 and September 25
  • Spirited Away: October 29 and October 30
  • Howl's Moving Castle: November 26 and November 27

GKIDS and Fathom Events previously screened Spirited Away alongside the short film "Ghiblies: Episode 2" in December and Princess Mononoke alongside the Ghibli-animated music video "On Your Mark" in January. Both feature films were presented with both the English dub and in Japanese with English subtitles, though different versions were shown on different days.
