NatsuCon Returns to Gateway Center July 12-14

NatsuCon, St. Louis's summertime Anime convention, returns to the Gateway Center in Collinsville, Illinois, July 12-14. NatsuCon's events include a costume contest, dances, live music, video game tournaments, a ramen-eating contest, discussion panels and voice actor meet-and-greets.

Among NatsuCon 2013's special guests are: Samarai Jillian, who will host Ninja Olympics and will lead an Akita dog panel (with her two Akitas); cosplay guest Missyeru; voice actor Jeremy Inman; and voice actress Clarine Harp.

Musical guests include the bands Urizen, Arc Impulse, Losing Controllers, Knight of the Round and My Parents' Favorite Music. Solo musical acts for NatsuCon are Professor Shy Guy (doing Nerdcore Rap) and Glenn Tai (playing 8-Bit chiptune via Gameboy).

Dances at NatsuCon 2013 are Friday night's Masked Ball (with string quartet), the Fridance (with four DJ's) and the Saturday night UV Lite Party (with four DJ's).

The convention kicks off with opening ceremonies at noon on Friday, July 12. Admission for Natsucon is $40/person for a full weekend badge. Daily admission is $25.
