Popular U.S. animated comedy pokes fun at Japanese animation
The November 14 episode of the American animated comedy Family Guy, "Baby, You Knock Me Out," features a brief bit poking fun at anime. In the episode, protagonist Peter tries to convince his wife Lois not to quit boxing, saying that they're making money, which he needs "for bourbon and anime."
A follow-up shot shows Peter watching television and drinking. While watching, he says that "I just can't understand any of this. Everybody in Japan is either a 10-year-old girl or a monster."
