Shigenori Soejima is well known in the gaming world for working on the Persona game franchise for Atlus. Soejima took on the role as the franchise's primary character designer starting with Persona 3, although he worked on previous games in the franchise too.
In a new interview with Archipel, the YouTube channel behind the monthly Toco Toco web series, Soejima discusses the evolution of his character design process. He states that initially he focused on designing characters around particular qualities that he liked, but has recently turned to celebrities and street fashion as inspirations. The video also discusses designing Rin, the new character from Catherine: Full Body game.
Atlus revealed Catherine: Full Body for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in December. Atlus' Studio Zero division is developing the mature romantic action-adventure puzzle game. Rin is a new love interest for Vincent with distinct storyline elements and additional puzzle content. The game will also have new storyline elements for Catherine and Katherine. Atlus USA announced last month that the game will launch in the Americas and Europe in 2019.
