Chie Shinkyū's manga about woman who loves sake also inspired TV anime in 2015

The wraparound jacket band on the eighth volume of Chie Shinkyū's Wakako-zake manga announced on Friday that the manga is getting a third live-action series. The temporarily titled Wakako-zake 3 series will premiere in April on BS Japan.

The 12th and final episode of the show's second season had hinted at a possible third season.

Both previous seasons of the live-action series starred Rina Takeda as Wakako. The 12-episode first season aired in January-March 2015, and the 12-episode second season premiered in January 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the second season as it aired, and added the first season in April 2016.

The cuisine manga follows 26-year old Wakako, who drinks different kinds of alcoholic beverages at bars and restaurants alone every night, searching for her place to belong. Shinkyū started the manga in Monthly Comic Zenon in 2011.

The manga also inspired a 12-episode series of three-minute anime shorts starring Miyuki Sawashiro that premiered in July 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
