Takumi Ishida's Kakafukaka manga is inspiring a live-action television series titled Kakafukaka -Kojirase Otona no Share House- that will premiere on MBS' new "Dorama Tokku" timeslot on April 25. The show will later debut on TV Kanagawa, Chiba TV, and TV Saitama, and also stream on Amazon Prime Video. Ishida provided an illustration and comment for the announcement.

Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in English, and it describes the story:

I never thought I would see him again. Aki Terada said goodbye to her first love long ago. When her current boyfriend is caught cheating on her, Aki moves out of her apartment and into a sharehouse, where she's reuinted with her first love. When things get heated between them, he drops a major bomb … Heart and body and everything in between intersect in this fresh new adult love story.

The live-action series will star:

Aoi Morikawa as protagonist Aki Terada

Masaki Nakao as Tomoya Hongyō, a novelist and Aki's first love

Kōsei Yūki as Taichi Hase, Tomoya's former editor

Risa Nakamura as Akari Kuritani, a big fan of Tomoya

Momoko Fukuda is directing the series, and Kumiko Asō is writing the script.

The manga launched in Kodansha's Kiss magazine in 2013, and the eighth compiled book volume shipped on February 13. The series has more than 1.7 million copies in print.
