Ascendent Animation Anounces an English Dub of "Everything for Demon King Evelogia"
LOS ANGELES, CA - DECEMBER 2021 - Ascendent Animation is proud to announce their newest acquisition of, “Everything for Demon King Evelogia”. Alongside these acquisitions, we are also proud to announce the production of an English dub. ‘Everything for Demon King Evelogia’ will be our fifth English dubbing production.
Everything for Demon King Evelogia is being dubbed in partnership with Japanese companies WWWave Corp. and Suiseisha Inc. The show is based off of a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the artist Io Kaziwara. Originally serialized in the web manga magazine, BL Screamo, it has continued its popularity in volumes crafted by Suiseisha, with digital distribution in English on the North American site, Coolmic.
The plot entails an aimless young man named Toshiaki Gozu. He is killed and then resurrected as an NPC in a video game world that he enjoyed playing when he was a kid. Gozu meets up with the Demon King, “Eve” (Evelogia), the game's last boss whom Gozu has admired since then. Gozu dreams of being together with Evelogia, and tries to romance him. Once together, Gozu then aims to conquer the world so that he can be together with Eve.
The show follows a romantic (BL) storyline, featuring thematic elements, and a dramatic undertone. Each episode runs about seven minutes long. Kiba Walker (Titan's Bride, Horimiya), will be directing and adapting the English version. Steve Warky Nunez (Ishida and Asakura, Ant-Man), will helm the audio engineering/mixing, and Localization Supervisor will be Kevin Frane (428 Shibuya Scramble, Resonance of Fate). Once more, K. Cornell Kellum (Vice Squad, The Titan's Bride), will return as the Executive Producer.
When asked about the show, Walker said, “Directing this anime (Evelogia), is going to be a fun challenge and honor, as this is a title that I know is precious to a lot in the BL community. I can't wait for everyone to watch the English dub! Thank you to our partners in Japan for trusting Ascendent Animation with this task!”
Following their work on The Titan's Bride, Ascendent will continue using talent from across the world and of the BIPOC/LGBTQ+ community, following their company's directive to be inclusive and diverse.
