Yuuki Kaji, Hikaru Midorikawa Star in New This Boy/Kono Danshi Anime

The official website for the second installment in independent animator Soubi Yamamoto's Kono Danshi (This Boy) anime projects revealed the cast and release date for the upcoming Kono Danshi, Ningyo Hiroimashita. video anime on Tuesday.
The second installment will star Yūki Kaji (Blue Exorcist's Konekomaru Miwa, No. 6's Sion, You and Me.'s Akira) as 17-year-old Shima Kawauchi, and Hikaru Midorikawa (Fate/Zero's Lancer, Fushigi Yugi's Tamahome, Saint Seiya Omega's Pegasus Kōga) will co-star as the merman Isaki.
The 29-minute anime will be released on DVD on November 9 in Japan. The DVD will retail for 2,100 yen (about US$27) and will also contain two video previews. The DVD will have a Japanese audio track with Japanese, English, and Chinese subtitles.
The anime will revolve around a lonely high school student named Shima. On the day his grandfather died, Shima was crying alone at a beach when he suddenly slipped and fell into the ocean. A merman named Isaki saves Shima from drowning, and Shima and Isaki begin living together. Slowly, Shima begins to open up his heart.
The official website for the anime had posted a teaser trailer in March.
As a 21-year-old, Yamamoto made her scriptwriting and directorial debut last year with the first 28-minute Kono Danshi anime, Kono Danshi, Uchū-jin to Tatakaemasu. (This Boy Can Fight Aliens!). Her first anime had its international premiere at New York Comic Con last October, and Sentai Filmworks released the OVA on DVD and Blu-ray Disc last month.
