posted on by Egan Loo
April TV anime from Ghost in the Shell's Kamiyama, Honey and Clover's Umino

A special website has relaunched on Thursday with a promotional video for Production I.G's Eden of the East television anime series and film.

As previously announced, Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit) is creating, writing, and directing the project. Chika Umino, the creator of Honey and Clover and Young Animal magazine's ongoing March comes in like a lion manga, is creating the original character designs. Satoko Morikawa (The Cat Returns, Nanatsu no Umi no Tico, Princess Arete) is adapting Umino's designs for animation. Longtime Production I.G collaborator Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell and Death Note films) will compose the music, while Yūsuke Takeda (Blood: The Last Vampire, Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) will oversee art direction. A theatrical film will open in Japan after the April premiere of the television series.

Update: The website has announced that the English rock band Oasis is singing the opening theme song, "Falling Down." The song is from the band's latest album, Dig Out Your Soul, and it is the first anime collaboration for Oasis. The new band School Food Punishment is singing the ending theme song, "futuristic imagination," as its debut single. Thanks, Yivyn and jwood.
