Sentai Filmworks Adds Someday's Dreamers II Sora TV Anime

12-episode spinoff series from Beck/Paradise Kiss director to get subtitled DVD release later this year

The North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Monday that it has licensed the Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora television anime series under the name Someday's Dreamers II Sora. The company will release the 12-episode series digitally and then on subtitled DVD later this year.

The anime is based on Norie Yamada and Kumichi Yoshizuki's manga of the same name, which is itself a spinoff of the Someday's Dreamers manga. The anime originally aired in 2008. Osamu Kobayashi (Kimagure Orange Road, BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad, Paradise Kiss) directed the animators at Hal Film Maker.

Sentai Filmworks had announced in January that it had licensed the original Someday's Dreamers television anime series, and it released it on DVD in April.

Tokyopop published Yoshizuki and Yamada's two-volume Someday's Dreamers manga in North America. The company had also released the Someday's Dreamers: Spellbound spinoff manga.

Update: Background information and press release link added, and title's punctuation fixed. Thanks, Shiroi Hane.
