Aldnoah.Zero TV Anime's 1st TV Ad Outlines Space War Story

Series written by Madoka Magica's Urobuchi will premiere in July

The first commercial for the Aldnoah.Zero television anime by writer Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet) began streaming on Saturday.

The commercial outlines the premise of the story: In 1972, a hypergate was discovered on the surface of the moon. But then, humankind came into contact with beings from Mars, leading to war.

The main cast for the July anime includes:



Fate/Zero director Ei Aoki (Ga-Rei: Zero, The Garden of Sinners, Wandering Son) is helming the project as director at A-1 Pictures and TROYCA. Manga artist Takako Shimura (Wandering Son, Sweet Blue Flowers) provided the original character designs, while Atsuko Matsumoto will adapt the designs for the anime. i4 and Kenji Teraoka will be providing the mecha designs, and Katsuhiko Takayama will be handling series composition. Hiroyuki Sawano will score the music.
