Promo previews TV anime's new "Warring States" setting

The official website for the Battle Spirits Burning Soul TV anime, the seventh and latest television anime series inspired by Bandai's Battle Spirits card game, announced last month that the anime's broadcast schedule on TV Tokyo is Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., beginning April 1. (Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers now airs in that timeslot.) The show will also air on BS Japan on Wednesday 5:29 p.m., beginning April 8.

The website also began streaming a promotional video for Battle Spirits Burning Soul on January 14. The video introduces the show's characters, and shows the new Japan Warring States-themed setting of the show.

The Battle Spirits anime franchise launched with the 50-episode Battle Spirits: Shōnen Toppa Bashin series on September 7, 2008. The anime adapted Bandai's original trading card game, in which cards represent dragons, demons, birds, insects, and other spirits that the players can control in battles. Bandai imported the game to America in 2009.

The Battle Spirits: Shōnen Gekiha Dan follow-up series premiered on September 13, 2009. Battle Spirits: Brave, the third Battle Spirits television anime series, then debuted in Japan in September of 2010. The fourth series, Battle Spirits: Heroes, launched in September 2011. Battle Spirits: Sword Eyes, the fifth TV anime in the series, premiered in September 2012, while the sixth TV anime in the series, Battle Spirits: Saikyō Ginga Ultimate Zero premiered on September 2013.
