angela's opening song "Dead or Alive" previewed before October 2 premiere

The staff of the Fafner EXODUS anime previewed angela's opening theme song and announced details on the broadcast premiere on Friday. The staff also unveiled a new key visual:

The anime's official website is previewing the opening theme song "Dead or Alive" by the group angela for a limited time. The group is also performing the ending theme song "Horizon."

The anime will premiere on TBS on Friday, October 2 at 26:25 (effectively, Saturday, October 3 at 2:25 a.m.) It will then run on the MBS, CBC, BS-TBS, and AT-X channels.

Niconico Live is running a marathon of the first season starting on September 20 at 7:00 p.m. Then, the cast will appear at an event with an advance screening of part of episode 14 (the first episode of the second season) and a talk show on September 21. Theaters throughout Japan will show a live stream of the event.

The main staff and cast are returning for the second season.

XEBEC zwei had said in 2013 that the sequel will be a 26-episode television series. However, in November 2014 the official website for the series had listed six Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes with 13 episodes on them. The show's staff confirmed after the 13th episode in April that the show would continue as two split seasons.

The sequel television anime is set in the year 2151, two and a half years after the film Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth. The 10th- and 11th-anniversary project reunites the main staff from the first Fafner television series, including director Nobuyoshi Habara at XEBEC zwei and Xebec. Tow Ubukata is writing the project, and King Records' Gou Nakanishi is a producer.

Crunchyroll streamed the first half of the sequel series in various countries as it aired from January to April. Funimation licensed and released the original 2004 anime Fafner and the 2010 film Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth.
