Sonny Strait to Attend Anime-zing!

Davenport, Iowa - January 21, 2013 - The Iowa anime convention Anime-zing! announced today that voice actor Sonny Strait will be appearing at the 2013 Iowa anime convention, signing autographs and participating in Q&A sessions throughout the weekend at the Clarion Hotel in Davenport, Iowa in May.

Sonny Strait does the ultra-well-known voices of Lt. Maes Hughes in Fullmetal Alchemist, the gentleman thief Lupin III, and also Krillin from Dragon Ball Z. In addition, he is Usopp on One Piece, the voice of Toonami's Tom, and he does roles from literally dozens of other shows as well. Beyond voice acting, he has been a writer/director on DBZ, Case Closed, and Lupin, while also being a celebrated comic artist, and creator of the independently published comic book series "Elfquest".

Anime-zing! is a three-day Iowa anime convention held in May. The convention brings together just under 1,000 fans to participate in cosplay costume contests, various social events, a formal ball, discussion panels, a date auction, video gaming tournaments, and table top gaming tournaments. Anime-zing! gives fans of Japanese animation a safe, fun place to meet fellow fans and celebrate Japanese animation and culture, with over 100 scheduled events, in addition to an exhibit hall filled with vendors and artists.
