‘One Piece Film: Red’ Comes to India First; Blockbuster Anime Franchise's Latest Installment to Release in India Before US Debut
September 2022 - The One Piece anime film series has seen massive success in many parts of the world. PVR Pictures, as part of their exclusive deal with ODEX, now brings the franchise's latest installment to Indian cinemas on the 7th of October 2022. The film will mark an official debut in Indian screens much before its international release in the United States.
The 15th entry in the series, ‘One Piece Film: Red’ tells the story of Uta, a renowned singer known for an ethereal and enchanting voice who always hides her true identity. While the journey begins with the shocking discovery that she is Red-Haired Shanks' daughter, Uta declares that she will finally reveal herself to the world at a live concert. As all her fans, including the eponymous Straw Hat Pirates wait for the unveiling with bated breath, what happens next forms the crux of the adventure.
The film has already smashed numerous records at the global box office, ranking #1 in Japan and raking in close to US$16.7 million within two days of release. It is currently the most successful installment of the franchise.
