THE AOL RADIO NETWORK LAUNCHES NEW ANIME RADIO STATION
New York, NY – October 3, 2005 – Adding to a niche programming line up including Video Game Scores and Japanese Pop stations, AOL® Radio today announced the launch of its new Anime Radio station. Featuring a playlist of favorite songs from the most popular Anime TV shows and movies, the station is available exclusively at http://www.aolradio.com.
“Anime is bigger than ever in the U.S., and the music that accompanies this popular Japanese animation is incredibly diverse and moving,” said Pete Schiecke, a music director for the AOL Radio Network. “AOL Radio not only caters to the mainstream, but we also take pride in being the leader when it comes to creating new compelling radio stations targeted towards niche audiences. Anime Radio features music from popular shows including Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, .hack, Samurai Champloo, Fullmetal Alchemist and many more. The station was developed in response to listener demand following the hugely successful launches of the Video Game Scores station in May and the Japanese Pop station in July.
