I don't believe that I can accurately and consistently rate a things on a numerical scale, especially not a fairly granular one and trying to do so is a little bit of a nuisance, so I have simplified things for my purposes. I use only the masterpiece, very good, decent, not very good and bad ratings. If another rating appears, it's a mistake. Most will fall within middle three grades, with masterpiece and bad being saved for special cases. The ratings also try to include some self-awareness, so something that I adore, but can perceive serious faults in that I overlook might merely be rated as very good or even just decent and occasionally something that I didn't particularly enjoy, but can see merit in will be rated as very good. The extreme ends of the scale will generally require more consonance between my emotional and 'critical' reactions.
