Double Your Pleasure – A Twin Yuri Anthology

What's It About?

Each of these eight short erotic manga features a pair of twins. Sometimes they're identical, sometimes they're fraternal. Sometimes they play with others, sometimes they only have eyes for each other. Every story puts a different twist on the concept, with lush art in a variety of styles to explore one of erotica's forbidden fantasies.

Seven Seas has released Double Your Pleasure – A Twin Yuri Anthology in paperback for $14.99

Is It Worth Reading?

Rebecca Silverman

Rating:

I suspect that if this book is your thing, you'll already know it. And to be perfectly frank, should incest between twin sisters not be your thing, there really isn't much here for you. Each of the stories features twin sisters (generally in high school) who have a sexual relationship. Three of them are also ménage à trois stories, one with an older adopted sister. None of the sex is penetrative (although there are fingers involved in a few, it's pretty strictly in a foreplay capacity) and all of it is very much about the fantasy of twin sisters having sex. That's…pretty much it.

It is, however, not a terrible anthology. Two of the stories explore the idea of twins yearning to return to being one single organism, as they were before splitting in the womb, and it almost seems to be pushing the idea of an unhealthy codependency. In the first story, “Mix and Melt Into One,” the twins are actively annoyed that another student in their class can tell them apart, because they really don't see themselves as two separate people. Suto's “Loved by Twins,” the second story in the anthology, again suggests that the twins don't see much separation between them, and are very willing and happy to share their beloved (female) tutor with each other, although they do note that they should probably make up a schedule, one of the inadvertently funnier moments of the book. A couple of stories are interested in using the twins comparing their bodies as a means to get them getting busy, and while that does feel a bit forced, it more or less works because it gets the goal of the anthology accomplished.

There is a basic sameness to all of the pieces, however, which makes the book dim a bit in comparison to the not-great Syrup anthologies or the superior Éclair books. There are only so many variations on the theme that can be done in the scant pages allotted to each creator, and that does make things start to drag before very long. The art is a bit more varied, which is nice, and almost all of the styles are attractive no matter what the girls are doing. For a fetish anthology (and yes, a very explicit one) this isn't terrible, but it also doesn't go far enough to make each story unique. But then again, if you're looking for a twincest yuri anthology, I can't say that this doesn't ultimately fit the bill.
