Berserk Film Tour Sends Fans to France's Château de Pierrefonds

Participants in 6-day tour to visit fortress built in 1393 filled with ballistas, armor

In celebration of the upcoming Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen III: Kōrin movie, a tour to the Château de Pierrefonds castle is being held in collaboration with the Japanese tourism agency, “Sora no Tabi” (Adventures in the Sky). The 6-day tour is titled “Visiting the Middle-Age French Fortress! 6 DAYS with Château de Pierrefonds and Paris”. The main destination of the trip is the Château de Pierrefonds, a fortress built in 1393 with historical importance that has been compared to the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre Museum. It is well-known as a stage for many films and TV shows, such as Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place. Inside the castle are ballistas, armor, and iron masks, as well as a room that was once used as a dungeon. The reason this place was chosen in relation to Berserk is because it gives the same dark fantasy feeling as the series.

Tours will be departing every day from January until April. Those who participate in the tour will receive a special Berserk pamphlet not for sale that was only available to the media, and those who participate as a couple will receive a present of macaroons from one of Paris's famous stores. Those who sign up for the tour before February 1 will also get a ticket for the Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen III: Kōrin movie. Further details can be confirmed at the Sora no Tabi website, and prices vary depending on date.

The third movie in the trilogy based off of Kentarō Miura's manga will open in theaters in Japan on February 1.
