Level 5 Streams 4 New Yōkai Watch Gameplay Trailers

Japanese game developer Level 5 began streaming four new gameplay trailers for its upcoming Nintendo 3DS game Yōkai Watch on Thursday.
The trailers feature in-game mechanics such as how to search for and "befriend" different supernatural creatures using the Yōkai Watch, as well as the fighting system with the 3DS touch screen and a chance wheel. The trailers also features the main character investigating supernatural occurrences happening around the city by talking to the NPCs in the game.
The game's story begins one hot summer day when a boy named Keita discovers an old capsule toy vending machine in the forest. Keita receives a mysterious watch and meets a ghost butler named Whisper. Whisper tells Keita that the watch allows him to see supernatural creatures — both good and evil — that he could not see before in everyday life. With Whisper and his other companion Jibanya, Keita explores his town for other ghosts to battle.
Level 5 has announced plans for anime and manga adaptations of the franchise as well.
The game will ship in Japan on July 11.
