Latest Yakuza Game Teased in Video with Historical Figure

Sega announced on Sunday that production on the latest Ryu ga Gotoku (Yakuza) video game has begun. The teaser for Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin (Yakuza Restoration) came at the end of the video announcing the results of the franchise's recent character popularity poll. The video was screened at the East Exit of Tokyo's Shinjuku Station, with the new game's teaser starting four minutes and 20 seconds in:
The video also revealed the new game's "legendary Dragon" — the real-life historical figure Sakamoto Ryōma. Sakamoto helped lead the overthrow of the Tokugawa shogunate that led to Japan's Meiji Restoration.
The popularity poll included 100 different characters from the Ryu ga Gotoku series, and the top ten most popular characters are as follows:

- 6. Shigeki Baba
- 5. Daigo Dojima

The latest game in the Ryu ga Gotoku series, Ryu ga Gotoku 5, was released in Japan last December. The fourth installment of the series was released as Yakuza 4 in the WEST. in 2011.
