Namja Town Adds to Menu With More Yowapeda, Hozuki no Reitetsu

posted on by Eric Stimson
Yowapeda promotion extended to May

Yowamushi Pedal fans have evidently been flocking to Namja Town's extensive Yowapeda-themed cafe since it opened in February, because the promotion has just won an extension until May 6. So if you just can't get enough Yowapeda, or you've missed the Ikebukuro promotion, you've got another month to check it out!

In addition to the extension, some changes have been made. The most important one is that "Tadokoro's Bread Collapse" will be replaced with "Usakichi's Munch-Munch Ball," and instead of knocking over burger stacks players will roll balls of cabbage into holes. Although many of the prizes will remain the same, designs featuring Hajime Aoyagi, Junta Teshima, and Koutarou Ishigaki will be added, and the selection of postcards to win with the crane game has changed substantially.

New food items, again featuring gyōza, have also been added to the cafe.

There's also a few new desserts, like "Sakamichi-kun's Princess Princess Ice Cream Parfait" and "Toudou's Matcha Mousse."

Meanwhile, Namja Town is also opening a Hozuki no Reitetsu section. Much like the Yowapeda section, the Hozuki no Reitetsu promotion will feature food, a garapon game (in which a box is turned with a crank to drop a random ball), and a crane game. The food items will appear at the same places as the Yowapeda menu (Namja Gyōza Stadium and Fukubukuro Dessert Yokochou), so they will also consist of cleverly arranged and designed gyōza and dessert food evoking the show's characters like King Enma, Shiro and Momotarō.

Prizes for the garapon and crane games include wall scroll-styled posters, badges, bookmarks, pouches, and cushions.

Posters

This eloquent artwork printed on washi (Japanese paper) and a glass featuring Hōzuki's goldfish plant can also be bought for ¥760 and ¥1,200, respectively (about $7.31 and $11.55).

The most unusual Hozuki no Reitetsu-related addition, though, is the goldfish plant contest. Color in a drawing of one of the bizarre plants Hōzuki cultivates, stamp it with one of the custom "wailing stamps" provided, and place it in a box, and you could win the giant goldfish plant that will decorate the contest area. There will only be one winner, but some of the artwork will be displayed during the promotional event.

Due to high demand, visiting the Yowamushi Pedal cafe now requires getting a ticket in advance; they are passed out beginning at 10 AM (when Namja Town opens) on weekdays. The Hozuki no Reitetsu tie-in lasts from April 12 to June 29.
