Senpai ga Uzai Kōhai no Hanashi Manga's Promo Video Stars Haruka Shiraishi, Takaya Kuroda

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Shiro Manta's Senpai ga Uzai Kōhai no Hanashi (Story of a Junior With an Annoying Senior) manga centers on Futaba Igarashi, a worker who is constantly frustrated with her senior coworker Harumi Takeda. Takeda is crude and ill-mannered, but he also has a caring and helpful side. Though Takeda constantly pushes Igarashi's buttons, there are also times she is not truly as irritated as she seems.

The manga's second compiled book volume shipped in Japan on Monday, and publisher Ichijinsha posted a promotional video for the series to mark the occasion.

The video begins with Igarashi (voiced by Haruka Shiraishi) describing the various ways Takeda (voiced by Takaya Kuroda) annoys her. She continues by telling the ways he takes care of her. At a work-related drinking party, Igarashi accidentally implies she might want to be Takeda's wife while she reacts to one of his remarks. Takeda blows off the incident as Igarashi speaking nonsense while drunk. The next day, Igarashi is till worrying about Takeda's reaction to what she said while under the influence. At lunch, Takeda laughs at Igarashi for staying worried about her drunken words, which annoys Igarashi all over again.

The series launched in 2017, and it serializes on the pixiv Comic website. The manga's compiled book volumes have more than 350,000 copies in print. The series won the web manga division of the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards in August.
