X Japan to Play NYC's Madison Square Garden This Fall
posted on by Egan Loo
The newly reunited X Japan rock band has announced in a April 3 press conference that it will perform its first live concert in America at New York City's Madison Square Garden on September 13. Band leader Yoshiki Hayashi said it was his dream to go abroad and perform a world tour. He had announced last week that X Japan would play a concert on July 5 in Paris. The surviving band members — Toshimitsu "Toshi" Deyama, YOSHIKI, Tomoaki "Pata" Ishizuka, and Hiroshi "Heath" Morie — held the press conference after finishing their first concerts together in over ten years.
X Japan's most notable anime contributions were the songs in the X² music video collection and later X movie. Madhouse Studios adapted both productions from CLAMP's X manga.
