Actress Elizabeth Olsen Confirms Godzilla Filming Plans

Actress Elizabeth Olsen confirmed at the BAFTA awards on Sunday that she plans to join Gareth Edwards' Godzilla film remake.
Olsen stated in a red carpet interview, "I'm about to film Godzilla in the spring so that's the next thing I'm working on!" When asked about how the content compares to working on dramas like her earlier Martha Marcy May Marlene film, Olsen said "Well, Godzilla is actually going to be a very heavy drama! It's definitely going to be a very different take on the past Godzillas … it's definitely not lighthearted. It's going back to the roots of the original Japanese film."
The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog reported that Olsen would play the girlfriend of possible lead actor Aaron Johnson.
The trade magazine Variety reported that Olsen was in talks to appear in the film but nothing would be finalized until after writer Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Mist, The Green Mile) turned in his script rewrite.
The film is scheduled to open on May 16, 2014.
