Shueisha's Shonen Jump magazine began streaming the first out of two episodes of the Flash anime adaptation of Robinson Haruhara's new manga series Gakumon! ~Ōkami Shōjo wa Kujikenai~ (School of Monsters! Wolf Girl Won't Give Up). The second and final episode will be posted on May 9.
In the first half of the episode, Shushu (played by Yumi Uchiyama) is told by her father (Shuichi Tatsunami) that he had hid it from her, but Shushu is in fact a woman. Shushu is shocked, but realizes that this is why she has had an interest in males. She asks her father why he tried to make her into a wolfman if only men can become them. He replies that only monsters can become public servants, and those of wolfman descent can only become wolfmen. Shushu realizes the meaning behind her mother's words when she said, “If I were a wolfman, I would become a public servant,” and reminisces on the fact that her mother works at the Lawson convenience store chain. Shushu asks her father why he is so obsessed about getting her to be a public servant, and he replies that he wants to retire. He makes up the years of not telling his daughter she was a girl the entire time by giving her a book on the difference between the genders, published by himself since he has no money to purchase a book.
In order to become a monster and a public servant, Shushu attends Monster Academy under the disguise of a wolfman. If her identity is found out, she will be expelled because she lied on her application. She is greeted by dorm leader Timid (played by voice actress Naomi Maruyama), who tells her that he is a Hell Hound and a third year at the school. Inside the dorm, he explains that a boy playing ball by himself is named Juzu, and he is the son of the king of monsters, and that “he” shouldn't get near Juzu due to the possibility of angering him and getting expelled. However, Timid explains that Juzu is an idiot and has stayed a first year for four years in a row. When Shushu notices the pretty color of Juzu's eyes when he looks at her, Timid plays dead in order to escape Juzu's gaze.
Timid guides Shushu to her new room, which used to belong to him. When he leaves, at the excitement of having a bath with hot running water, she immediately strips naked, when to her shock, Juzu comes in, and comments that she's a woman. After getting dressed, she chases after Juzu, and offers to do anything for him if he keeps the fact that she's a female a secret. Elated, Juzu asks her to play catch with him. Although Shushu is relieved that Juzu is a pure idiot who no one approached just because he is the monster king's son, she is unhappy about all the stares she is getting. With that, Shushu says goodbye to her inconspicuous academy life.
Haruhara just started serializing the manga in the May issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine.
Haruhara's Senyu comedy manga also inspired an anime last year.
