Blade of the Immortal's Hiroaki Samura to Start Romance Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
The August issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Blade of the Immortal creator Hiroaki Samura will launch a romance manga series in the next issue in July. The series, tentatively titled Nami yo Kiite Kure (Waves, Listen to Me), will follow a romance "of tears and laughter" between an adult man and woman "on the streets of beautiful Sapporo." According to the magazine, the manga is a "love letter from Hokkaido" in northern Japan, and an illustration will adorn the cover of the next issue.
Samura ended his historical Blade of the Immortal (Mugen no Jūnin) manga in 2012 after 19 years of serialization. Dark Horse Comics published the 29th volume of the manga in North America in May. The manga inspired a television anime in 2008, and Media Blasters released it in English. Samura also ended his Harukaze no Snegurochka (The Spring Breeze Snow Maiden) manga in May.
