Mashiro Ayano, GARNiDELiA to Perform Gunslinger Stratos Themes

The official website for Gunslinger Stratos -The Animation-, the television anime adaptation of Square Enix's gun-shooting action arcade game Gunslinger Stratos, revealed on Thursday that Mashiro Ayano and GARNiDELiA (pictured at right) will perform the theme songs for the series.
Ayano will perform the opening theme song "vanilla sky," and GARNiDELiA will perform the ending theme song "Mirai." Ayano previously performed the first theme song for the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works television anime series. GARNiDELiA previously performed theme songs for Gundam: Reconguista in G, The irregular at magic high school, and Kill la Kill.

The cast members are reprising their roles from the original arcade game.
Shinpei Ezaki (Kimi ni Todoke - From Me to You, Attack on Titan episode director) will direct the anime at A-1 Pictures with series composition by author Norimitsu Kaihō from Nitroplus. Nitroplus is also helping produce the scripts, and Gen Urobuchi (Suisei no Gargantia, Fate/Zero) will provide the original scenario for the anime. Shin'ichi Yokota (Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil art setting, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG key animation) is designing the characters, and Tetsuya Kobayashi is composing the anime's soundtrack.
According to voice actor Junichi Suwabe, at least one character will die in the anime. Fellow voice actor Atsushi Abe commented that he thought maybe Aaron Burroughs would die protecting someone, and Kana Ueda agreed. The staff describe the anime as one filled with drama, death, romance, and more.
The anime will premiere in Japan in April on Tokyo MX and several other channels, as well as on niconico.
Square Enix began service for its Gunslinger Stratos arcade game in 2012, and a the company launched a sequel in February 2014. Since then, the game franchise has received two animated promotional videos.
Square Enix revealed that it will release the original game for the PC this year with the title Gunslinger Stratos Reloaded. Additionally, Square Enix will launch an official magazine titled Gunslinger Stratos Magazine this spring, and Rōji Karegishi will launch a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Dengeki Daioh magazine on February 27.
