Children's Book Series Rakudai Majo Gets Theatrical Anime

Novel series about apprentice witch launched in 2006

Poplar Publishing Co., Ltd. announced on Sunday that Satoko Narita's Rakudai Majo (Failure Witch) children's book series is getting a theatrical anime adaptation to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the book series.

Original novel illustrator Enaga Senno drew a teaser visual for the anime.

The book series follows apprentice witch Fūka on her adventures in magic and love. The first volume, Rakudai Majo wa Princess (Failure Witch is a Princess), shipped in October 2006. The franchise has 17 novels and one book of short stories. The most recent novel, Rakudai Majo to Yami no Kyūden (Failure Witch and the Palace of Darkness), shipped in October 2013.
